spring rainbow

Yesterday I was snapping some random photos in the cookshop where I work... they are to give me some inspiration for working on their website.

I started in the textiles area...

then walked over to a window of glass spice jars...

then looked up at the hanging LeCreuset teakettles...

then I looked back and saw these fabulous cocktail mixes.

NOW I know what to do... take my better camera to the shop... take closeup shots of colorful goodies... and make a mosaic with them! A spring rainbow! ;)

rosey additions to my etsy shop

This past week I created some necklaces for the art gallery which sells my jewelry. So while I had my supplies out, I made two lampwork and pearl bracelets and put them into my etsy shop. My personal favorite of the two is this Parisienne Roses one above. ;)

Beachy inspired lampwork roses bracelet.

I've also added some vintage treasures to my shop as well.

I also found the time to sew a few Provence lavender sachets as well.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

vintage treasures

I've been filling up my etsy shop with a wonderful selection of vintage treasures... most of them are beautiful old pieces of china!
If you collect Blue Willow, you might fancy these vintage "House of Blue Willow" shakers. ;)

Thank you for visiting!
Have a wonderful Thursday! ;)

my new art journals are back!

I've just listed my two newest journals over in my etsy shop! They were such a delight to create!

I can't believe I took such a long break (one year!) from making them.

I think finding all those gorgeous trims at the antique shop last week gave me the inspiration to get going! ;)

I used some antique and vintage linens I'd already had, and paired them with the "new" vintage treasures I found, and voila! ;)

Thank you for looking, and have a wonderful Monday!

inspire!

My recent trips to the antique shop yielded some wonderful results!

These gorgeous Victorian ribbons and laces will keep me busy for days!

I'm pleased as punch I happened to walk in on the right day... two vendors had bumper-crops of old trims!

One seller had bags and bags of trims inside an old washstand... the deeper I reached into the drawer, the better the finds became.

Another seller had an old trunk filled to overflowing with bags and bags and bags of color-coordinated vintage silk and satin ribbons. I wanted to go swimming in it! I couldn't even reach the bottom of the trunk, as the bags were falling onto the floor there was so much in there!

I went back in to my old etsy shop sales this morning, and realized all the journals I sold were back in 2009 and 2010! I didn't make any last year at all! I am overdue!

Stay tuned... once my journals are made and ready to be listed, I'll give you a sneak peak here. (These trims above are old and French... I scored these from Corey's website last year!)
Happy Weekend!

Happy New Year 2012!

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful start to the New Year!

I started off the New Year by taking a trip to the local antique co-op with some of my children. Many vendors have great sales this time of year, and I went to look for an old bookcase for our livingroom...

Not only did I find a GORGEOUS vintage 1930's bookcase (for $75!), but I found bags of antique silk and Victorian laces... all for $9! Be still my vintage-lovin' heart!

So I've resolved to start making my vintage linens and trims journals once again, as I did in 2010 (and sold them in my etsy shop). I've posted some of my old journals here.

One bag of Victorian silks contained all beautiful RED SILK RIBBONS! Perfect for upcoming Valentine's Day journals. ;)

It's actually hard to start talking Valentine's Day, when I'm still in the middle of packing away all our Christmas ornaments and decorations!

I've also joined PINTEREST! Once I get my links all working, I'll post my Pinterest page here on my blog.
Happy Monday!
